Intertrust and K-Businesscom AG join forces to drive the digital energy transition forward
VIENNA and SAN FRANCISCO - May 5, 2022
K-Businesscom AG, a technology company in the DACH region, and Intertrust, the global leader in digital rights management and data interoperability, today announced their partnership. The aim is to support the European energy industry and other sectors in their transformation and achievement of decarbonization targets. This partnership combines KBC's solution expertise for customer IT issues with Intertrust's innovative technologies for secure data interoperability along the entire digitalization value chain (including sensors/hardware, databases, data center/cloud and artificial intelligence). To ensure that our electricity supply remains secure and affordable in the future, the energy transition must go hand in hand with the digitalization of renewable energies, grid infrastructure, energy storage systems, electromobility and other segments. This is the only way to implement the urgently needed and efficient management of electricity production on the one hand and demand flexibility via controllable loads on the other. In future, energy companies will have to coordinate and cooperate via suitable data platforms. Data will be exchanged or shared with external ecosystem partners. This data will then be used by AI applications to ensure efficient automation.
Intertrust Platform and applications such as CleanGrid are specifically designed to enable and secure data interoperability within these ecosystems, from hardware to cloud. Used by energy companies around the world, the Intertrust Platform offers numerous features and capabilities, including an interoperability layer for virtual onboarding of disparate data sources, as well as complete and automated data governance for users and AI. These features accelerate organizations' ability to leverage data in existing and new business processes.
K-Businesscom AG builds on long-standing business relationships with numerous energy companies as well as corporate customers in other industries in the DACH region. "Our customers in the energy sector demand solutions that enable them to use their data ecosystems and meet all regulatory requirements," explains Jochen Borenich, Member of the Executive Board at K-Businesscom AG. "We are looking forward to working with Intertrust. Thanks to the strengths of both companies, we can fulfill these requirements perfectly."
"We are proud to be working with a digital powerhouse like K-Businesscom," said Florian Kolb, Chief Commercial Officer and General Manager, Energy at Intertrust. "Together, we can contribute to the success of the energy transition by dramatically accelerating the use of AI in the energy industry and also optimally integrating adjacent industries such as electric cars and their charging infrastructure, the building industry and other industries with significant energy needs." Intertrust products are now available for KBC customers.
