AMS - Public Employment Service Austria
The AMS - the Public Employment Service Austria - is the leading service provider for jobseekers and job providers. The AMS service line is of great importance as a central point of contact. Around 70% of all telephone inquiries are processed and concluded directly via this communication interface.
CANCOM Austria emerged from K-Businesscom (formerly Kapsch BusinessCom) at the beginning of 2024. The following case study was written before that and therefore the text was left in the original version.
Business Challenge
The AMS building in Vienna 22 was undergoing extensive renovation. This circumstance was used to implement the first steps on the way to a smart building future. One of the challenges of this project: around 130 employees are spread over five floors and 3,000m2 of office space.
Solution

- 860 ceiling light sensors for measuring the presence of people and the incidence of sunlight
- Automatic adjustment of the brightness of the LED lighting based on the sensor data
- Light intensity adapted to the room situation
- Automatic switching on and off of the lighting when offices and corridors are in use or empty
- Sensitive data measurement in the lighting (30 times per second), light adjustments barely perceptible to the human eye
- Creation of an optimum and pleasant light intensity of 500 LUX in rooms and at the workplace
